Daughter – Loudon Wainwright III Cover
A cover of my favorite Loudon Wainwright song. Probably one of the most beautiful songs about parenthood! This number takes on extra-special charm (or heartbreak, potentially) when you contrast it with the two songs that his unusually-gifted children wrote for their father… “Dinner at eight,” by Rufus Wainwright, and “Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole,” by Martha Wainwright. You can take a look at them here. And then hope that your children never take up an instrument.
And with that, I have smartly and stealthily introduced you to three of my favorite artists. And you only have to remember one family name!
“Poetry holds no place for a heart that’s a whore…”
